On the left is the First National Monument. It commemorates the war dead from WW1, WW2, and the guerrilla war against the Communists in 1948-1960.
It was modeled after a Cenotaph in Whitehall, London. There is also a similar Cenotaph with the same inscription of "To Our Glorious Dead" in Toronto.
In the background is the Second National Monument, the Tugu Negara.
