Wooden statue of Komoku-Ten 広目天像, the Guardian King of the South
Located in the northwest corner of the Great Buddha hall, this statue holds a writing brush and scroll symbolizing the copying of sutras.
This is one of four Edo period Guardian King 四天王 statues. Two of them were damaged in fire and only their heads were left.
