Veranda of Kiyomizu Temple 清水寺
The Veranda with a 13m drop gives the popular Japanese expression of “清水の舞台から飛び下りる” or “to jump off the stage at Kiyomizu”, meaning to take the plunge.
The attached main hall of this Buddhist temple dates back to 1633, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
