Purple Dawn II

Kananaskis Country, Alberta

Shot a short time after the previous one as the colour spread and intensified.

This is a blend of several frames with exposures ranging from very light for the treeline
to very dark for the sky and pond. I wanted the sky to have deep colour and yet be able
to retain some detail in the tree/shoreline. This is my interpretation of the scene that
morning. The colour has deepened from successive layers during processing. I did remove
some saturation at the end but right now I like this result. It will not suit everyone's tastes.

It sure suits my taste, and makes me wish I could have half the caliber of talent that is displayed in this gallery. Terrific shot and super processing....v

Tones are full, I like that. Flaming line on the sky and water are most brilliant, and it's nice that the treeline has retain detail so the picture is more vivid. This will be a success Peter.

this is an eye-catcher for sure due to the colors. We create our images to fulfill something within us. Well done! Monte

I like the beauty of it, Peter, with the color intensity in the sky against the mountains and reflected in the lake. It has a surrealistic dreamlike quality. Excellent capture and amazing post-processing work. Vote
