Once common on Java, now scarce everywhere. A few years back a feral population established themselves in an area near the airport of Bangkok. Good place to 'tick' them off!

Gorgeous Java! It is deploring to find out they are becoming scarce in Bankok! I live in the USA and am a breeder of these wonderful birds! It is a shame to hear about their demise. We have been looking for breeding stock for years. The Java posted certainly is a beauty!

Nice detail and light on him Peter. They are a cool little bird. Seen lots in Maui a few years ago.
