Born: 2:14 PM via Emergency C-section - Quite a surprise, we're telling you.T he doctors said he was showing 'decelerations' and signs of fetal distress, so just about an hour after we hit the hospital doors, he was out with LOTS of people hovering over him.
6.5 lbs, 19 3/4 inches long.
Perry Anthony was admitted to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) shortly after birth, as his blood sugar levels were off, and his breathing was shallow and rapid, and heartrate was high. We're hoping that these will slow to a more normal pace and the Doctors are thinking that the cause is the lack of "trauma" caused by a normal birth which triggers hormones in the babies body that cause the normal fluid in the lungs to be reabsorbed into the body.
Mom's in pain but doing well. She had that 'spark' back in her eyes by 9:00 last night.
Dad is frazzled, but I'm pretty sure that's what condition all new dads are in at this point...
