Badwater

Death Valley National Park view map

We took a little hike out on the salt flat of Badwater Basin. The snow-capped Panamint Mountains
grace the scene on the right, some 11,300 feet (3400 meters) higher than the Badwater salt flat.
I do know that I would not want to be making any trek on the salt flat during the summer months!

This is a merge of 3 exposures for HDR.

This worked out very well. The colours are rich and natural, the starburst (both above and below) a treat for the eyes, and the leading line of light bringing the eye down from the sun to the ground is the finishing touch.
