Upper Antelope Slot Canyon

Navajo Nation, Navajo County, Arizona view map

A fisheye view of a relatively pristine view of upper Antelope Slot Canyon. Dan, David, Glenn and I paid for a
photographer's photo tour of the slot canyon, thinking we were going to have the place basically to ourselves for
some people-free photos. That was definitely NOT the case and our tour guide was moving people out of the scene
as well as herding us along to the next spot. I cloned out a few people on the left side edge and one on the right side
edge of this image. What a hectic experience. This is a merge of three exposures for HDR.

Well, I thought I took some great images of the Antelope canyon, but your fisheye has certainly brought another dimension to this great location. Excellent work.

Great shot Sam! I particularly like the true colors you captured. Because of the light conditions in the canyon often times photos are being magenta dominant.

Your experience with heavy traffic(!) and poorly organized photo tours in the canyon is one common problem for dedicated photo enthusiasts for sure. Hope they will manage it one day.

A friend of mine took a tour in 2001. He said photographers almost came to blows and were pushing each other around for position.

I really like the post-processing of the many color hues and light/shadows in this image.

Another place I really want to visit. Very cool result. I like how you've achieved a dreamy quality with the fisheye.

I can hear your frustration though with the people. Guess it's better just to take my chances with the tourists, eh?
