Weathered

Death Valley National Park view map

One of the many fascinating views of the geology at Zabriskie Point.

I couldn't decide if this was better in color or b&w:

Wonderful image….the tonal separation in the colour appears better to me

The colored one is better, if you look closely you can see that the conversion proces
did not do justice to all the tones.
That's why there is less of a 3D feel like Raymond says.

A very beautiful composition. The color is much better for me ,with perhaps little boost in contrast Sam.V

I'm taking a trip here in middle of Feb. Great pictures. Lots of great information on Death Valley, Tks. Ps I have a photo of this from 32,000 from commercial flight.

I too vote color. It shows more depth and definition between the different formations. Both are great though, but if we have to choose.... then color.
Raymond Ma28-Jan-2014 04:41
I think I like the color version somewhat better...it has more of a 3D feel that
jumps out at you. V

Both are nice, but I prefer the one in colors a little more.
Terrific pictures Sam!

Usually I prefer B&W, but I think here the colour brings out the texture of this amazing place, much better. Both shots are fabulous, however. V

This looks to be very inhospitable terrain Sam.
Colour for me too, Sam.

I have too lean towards the color version. I believe the color tends to bring out the ruggedness a bit better...

I prefer the color version, I think the details and textures show up better. It is a great shot! V

well-rippled terrain...with the strong forms the mono works very well, yet the colour version benefits from the subtle earth tones..glad to view both options..

Fascinating patterns enhanced by the great light. I prefer the color version, although the B&W is quite striking as well. V.
