I have lived in Tucson for more than 35 years and just made my first visit to San Xavier Mission.
My plan is to get some more photographs of "The White Dove of the Desert" more often as it
is only 15 minutes from where I currently work. This is also the first series of images captured
with a new Canon 5D Mark III and 24-70 f2.8L II lens. Some background information on the mission:

A National Historic Landmark, San Xavier Mission was founded as a Catholic mission by
Father Eusebio Kino in 1692. Construction of the current church began in 1783 and was
completed in 1797. It is the oldest intact European structure in Arizona.
