The absolute expanse of this just cannot be accurately represented in an image. One has to go there to comprehend
the magnitude. And this is the scene some 33 years since the massive eruption (May 18, 1980).

A very nice image with a story of massive devastation. the tremendous power generated by that volcano can only be matched by mans own use of the Atomic bomb on Japan.
