I drove to the northeast part of AZ to catch this annular eclipse from
Canyon de Chelly National Monument http://www.nps.gov/cach/index.htm

Well worth the drive (and getting back home at almost 4 am)

Canon EOS 7D ,Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM ,1.4x TCIII
tripod, remote switch, solar filter full exif

Sam... absolutely spectacular! I wonder if some of the small "imperfections" in the lunar shadow are actually lunar topography or just distortion in Earth's atmo. Be honest though, it looks so perfect... did you shoot an old "Livestrong" bracelet lying on a black velvet cloth? :-)
