Normally I hate shopping (a guy thing, I guess). I even avoid hardware stores or car dealerships (not a guy thing, I guess). However wandering the myriad of unique shops and markets of old Quebec City and the ethnic districts of Montreal with Sue was both a pleasure and photographic trove. Everything from farmer's markets, bridal and sex shops (usually together), funky pawn shops, antique stores and consignment stores, ethnic restaurants of all descriptions and everything in between existed side by side. The streets were backed with life, from toddlers to grannies, to young teenage couples to folks with a decided "edge" of some persuation. Animated conversations in every language under the sun filled the air.
