WW2 Reenactments

Once a year a 1940's weekend is held at the Seven Valley Steam Railway Line Worcester, England.
I have been building up a collection of images to resemble movie stills from the period, the hardest part is keeping anything modern day 20th centuary out as this event alway has a large public attendance.

Another great effort...I feel your pain at the difficult situation posed to the photographer by the ubiquitous onlookers in the red shorts and yellow baseball caps forever intruding upon our attempts to capture history. PS: the 1940s were in the middle of the "20th centuary"

You got an eye for the 40s, wonderfully composed reenactment photos of a turbulent era, you succeeded in what you set out to do. I hope you've been able to extend your collection, if yes, would definitely like to see.

Grat. Try to make alternative version in b&w or sepia ad scratches and look for impact...

Paul, this is indeed lovely 40's gallery, you have been able to put together enough images to make it a whole story, but at the same time you kept the number of images low enough so we are not overwhelmed or lost. IMO the gallery works as a whole, but the individually the images are also outstanding, each one of them telling a story. What I also find interesting is that you were trying to present the 40's atmoshpere without trying to mimic the photography of that era, hence you kept the colour and didn't go with BW, sepia and grain we associate with old images, I personally find it quite refreshing. I gather it must have been quite a task to keep everything modern out of the images and imagine a whole lot must have been ruined by running shoes, modern watch or an helicopter that just flew by.
