Dear Paul, I was a "playtron" dressed as a country peasant in a straw hat and snood at Scarborough during the cold, rainy Sunday on 4/6. You came around and handed my friend and me a hand warmer. I just wanted to thank you for the selfless and generous act. It was my first day back for the season and I hope to see you again so I can thank you in person. :)

I so enjoy looking at your photos. i check back a few times every year to see what is new. I am sorry to see that you have had to limit the original images. I can only imagine that you must be running short on space. Good work and I hope you will be able to keep it up for many years to come.

When will the Celtic Christmas pictures be up for the Texas Renaissance Festival?
Roselyn 29-Sep-2009 15:00
I found your site when looking for photos from ren faires. They are beautiful, the photos and the people. I wonder if anyone has used the photos as inspiration for drawings. I would like to if it is all right with the people hosting the website.
Ron Tencati 02-Sep-2009 15:36
Paul, your work is awesome!
I have a Canon camera too. But not a 1-D Mark III. Sadly, only an XSi. I just bought a Tamron 18-270 lens that I can't wait to try out at the Carolina Renn Faire.

I wish I could afford a Canon professional lens and a better camera body.

Thanks for doing such great work!

Your pictures keep me sane while I am taking a break from full time Renfaire work, stuck in the godforsaken frozen north of Minnesota. You remind me what joy there is to come back to! I am glad to see you're posting again, keep up this wonderful work and take good care of yourself.

These photographs are by far the best I have ever seen of Scarborough Faire. However, there was one that I particularly liked and it was in the Really Hot gallery. It was of a young man and I believe he had either a green or grey hat. He was looking off into the distance with a pensive look in his eyes, yet I do not see it in the gallery now. Can you tell me what happened? I just loved the composition and feel of the emotion in the photo. Can you help me?
rockmore21-Oct-2008 13:22
Hi Paul, Thanks for the advice. The flash works excellent. My shots are so much more vibrant now and no more auto settings. I'm also in the market for a better lens. The Scarborough Faire is my new favorite place to be and I hope I'll run into you next year. Have a great Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!

Paul, I just wanted to take a moment of your time to tell you, "THANK YOU" for sharing your wonderful gift and 'eye'. Your briefly captured moments in time are like sweet thoughts dancing in my mind... and soul. The subjects you photograph are not just people in costumes... they are my friends... my family... of many years. You do us a great honour, sir.
Thank you, very much.

You are by far the best portrait photographer I has ever seen. You have the ability to not only capture the moment but to really “see” the subject. If you’re not a professional you should be. Thank you for sharing you fantastic photos.

These are some great pics! I was wondering if there is an archive of old pics from previous years. I know you've gotten pics of me at TRF, but I can't seem to find them. It says they come and go, but how can I dig one up of me? HELP! =)
Autumn 30-May-2006 17:36
Hey, Paul. It's Autumn, Mary's oldest daughter. (Horn Shoppe's Mary) I just want to say "Thank you so much for every picture you have taken out at Scarby this year." Your work inspires me to see the beautiful. It goes by so quickly. If I stopped and took the time to look a little closer, maybe I would begin to see more of the world that you capture in your art. Thank you for sharing your vision with us.

Enjoy your folks work it is very good. Have notices a few favorite subjects at TRF, looking through all the pics. Just happen to notice, they are friends of mine. You have also caught a lot of use from Renniassance Festival.com. And they have enjoyed all of them. But as I joke with them, how can he miss a pirate with a blue parrot on his shoulder. Keep up the good work, look forward to next years pics...

Do you ever visit the Maryland Renaissance? It is one of the biggest and best in the country! It would be fun to see through your lens in Crownsville, MD next year at the 30th anniversary.
Johnny Murrell 27-Oct-2005 13:51
Paul & Hollie,
Martha and I have seen you at many of the same faires over the last few years. Until today I have never seen any of your work. I am so impressed and very inspired. Your art truly captures the spirit of the faires and the essence of each character. Five stars for technical excellence; five more for the magic that each photo contains.

You are an amazing photographer! I worked at the Texas Ren Fest in 2001 and was looking for pics from my season on the web. I happened upon your site and although there are none of my cast year on it (due to beginning 1 year after I did TRF), I looked at every page anyway because they were so beautiful - especially the ones with children. Do you take bookings? Would you be willing to meet me at TRF this season and shoot some of my daughter (1 year) and me? Please let me know cost, availability and desire. You can see some of my family photos athttp://www.townsley.madllama.net/. Thanks!

Thank you for including me in your fantastic galleries. It flatters me to think that I am pictured beside some of the great members of the cast of Scarborough. Your pictures are always magnificent, and you have a talent of finding the best moment to take a picture. Some of my fondest memories of the season have been captured by your camera, and I thank you for that as well.

Hi Paul.
I found your pictures through renaissancefestival.com. I hope you don't mind but I'm putting some of them up on my fotopage. You have full credit for each picture and in my entry for the photo page I have mentioned where you can be found at renaissancefestival.com and in a minute I'm about to put a link for this website. I don't have my own website, but I love your pictures (not stealing them so you know) and I need a place to post them so I can have friends examine the wings and see if we can find a way as to how some of the faerie wings are made. I hope this isn't a problem. I take no credit for the photos and I will put a link in the fotopage entry.

Thanks,
Stardust

Thank you for lovely visions seen through your lens and shared with us all to the great delight of us, the non-photographically gifted multitude. This is your ever faithful washer wench; I am seeking some photos of my sweet new cousin eureka, and our wit(wench in training)ginger. There are few photos of these wenches on our site(washingwellwenches.com)and certainly none as spectacular as what you shared with us. Do you have any more of these photos in e-mailable form? If so, could you send them to my e-mail address, Im so 15th century in my technological talents, so I certainly understand if they have already been erased or cant be sent or whatever else cyber space does to "stuff". Again thank you for your capturing of these magical fleeting moments.
