How Much Does It Actually Cost to Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is?

Went to see An Inconvenient Truth. Mourned anew that this sober, intelligent thinker and communicator is not our President. Vowed to recommend the movie. Then Ralph proposed that we consider changing our electricity provider to one of the “clean” choices. For example, Energetix has an option to supply 50% or 100% of your electricity from wind and water. We tried to research the actual costs, risks, and benefits of doing so, and I challenge anyone without our combined years of post-secondary education to navigate this minefield and feel confident about the eventual decision. We think the premium we’ll pay is about +15% per kilowatt hour or less than $200 a year. Okay, enough: we have decided to just do it, to make our own tiny investment in alternative energy development. Keep up the good work, Al.

Is it just me or is managing any change like this extraordinarily hard? I'm beginning to believe in conspiracies more and more. Just WHO makes the directions for doing things like this so convoluted? Is it Dick Cheney from his bunker?
Think you and Ralph should get the Nobel for Managing Minefields!

Bravo, Patsy and Ralph! I knew you would write something after seeing this film but you have gone further, Bravo!
Did you see the article on page 9A of today's paper about the devolving of ocean life?
It's very sad indeed.

As we were immersed in Gore's continuing efforts to encourage Americans to think beyond themselves, we also grieved for the loss of his political leadership. Listening to his thoughtfulness, intelligence and commitment as he continues his 30 year journey as an avid environmentalist and life-long learner surely makes one want to "scream" in frustration at our collective ignorance. But...he doesn't give up and neither shall we. Whether tis avid recycling, planting trees, banding birds, saving a town's ever shrinking greenspace, choosing Energetix or supporting Hillary...no effort is too little.
