1912 Mercer RaceaboutTruly a classic, less than ten left in the world. We saw this car at the car show in North kansas City, Missouri |
|
1912 Mercer RunaboutI did not take this photograph. However, I thought it a nice addition to the two I did take. These cars are extremely rare. |
1916 MercerI did not take this photograph either. I simply think these cars are cool. |

|
1934 Ford CoupeI saw this car at the sales lot in Cameron Missouri. If only. |

1956 Chevrolet Bel Air ConvertibleI wish I had more shots of this car. It belonged to my friend's father. Unbeknownst to me, he sold it shortly after these were taken. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
1959 Ford ThunderbirdI saw this car while driving down the street. It had a For Sale sign in the window, asking $3,500. I thought it way too cool to pass by without shooting just a few pictures. |
|

|
|
1959 Chevrolet Bel AirI saw this car at the shopping mall close to my house. I was sad to see that yet again, some kid had all but ruined a perfectly beautiful automobile. Then again, she's still got it. |
|
|
1961 Ford Galaxie 500How cool. I saw this car sitting in the parking lot of a mall in Olathe Kansas. Obviously driven every day, this car remains a thing of beauty. |
|
|
1964 Ford FalconWhat a beauty. Powder blue & ready to restore. |
1966 Pontiac GTOThis was just sitting on the street in Newberry. These people have nothing to do all winter long except build their cars. |
1962 Mercury MonterayNow these were something, a Quintessential "boat" of a car. A highschool kid bought this off of E-Bay for a few hundred dollars & then drove it from Jonesboro Arkansas to Kansas City. My wife and I spoke with him for almost an hour. |
|
|
|
1967 Chevy ImpalaThis car was sitting in a yard. I stopped & asked if I could take some pictures. He'd restored both this car & the blue Goat shown next. |
|
|
|
|
|
1968 Pontiac GTOThis car too was sitting on this man's yard. He'd built both of these rides. |
|
|
|
|
|
1968 Chevrolet Camaro, Super SportThis is another gem I saw just driving down the street. I told him I'd print him some pictures if he'd just let me shoot the car. That's my gold Maxima sitting in the driveway. |

|
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28NKCMO Car Show |
1969 Chevrolet Chevelle, Super SportI taught school with this woman. The car belonged to her father, and he let her drive it daily. It was all original, never been rebuilt nor repainted. |
|
|
|
|
1964 Mercury CometI found this car sitting in the parking lot of the local grocery. I thought it was a 1963 until I went home looking for the model on the net. Okay, so I was off by a year. |
1967 Chevrolet ImpalaBeautiful Four door posted Chevy. I saw this car sitting on the street in Northtown the other morning as I was paying bills. It was on the very same block as the blue Bug shown 5 rows below. As a matter of fact, this car was parked BEHIND the Bug. |

1966 Ford F150This cat just pulled up at the Walmart driving this little gem. |
1966 Ford F150Not a lick of rust, a dent nor even a scratch. VERY nice truck. |
1966 Ford F150Restored to original condition is so much nicer than all the Hot Rod nonsense. |
1961 Ford F-100I did not take these next four. I found them on the net & thought this truck looked fantastic. |
1961 Ford Front |
1961 Ford Right |
1961 Ford Rear |
1974 MGB MidgetI had a friend who owned one of these. He swore by it, but I swear, it spent more time in the mechanics shop than it did on the road. The British have never been able to make a decent wine, a fine meal or a reliable automobile. |
1974 MGB MidgetEven Rolls Royce is owned by a Deutsche company. Go Krauts. |
1974 MGB MidgetMore interior shots |
1974 MGB MidgetThey were asking $4,500.00 for this thirty four year old Brit. Personally, I wouldn't give $450.00 for it. However, they are pretty to look at. |
1965 MGB-GTI did not not take this photograph, however I placed it here as a car identical to this one was owned by a friend of mine. It was the coolest little car to ride around in. |
1965 MGB GT RoadsterI did not take this photograph, but thought the car looked absolutely cool as hell. |
1941 ChryslerI saw this car sitting in a driveway while paying some bills this morning. No, I rarely go anywhere without a camera. |
1941 Chrysler |
1970 Volkswagen BeetleI swear I wasn't trolling for cars this morning. We found all four of these gems sitting on the very same block in Northtown. My wife loves these little cars. |
1970 Volkswagen BeetleRear View |
1970 Plymouth DusterRight across the street, not twenty feet away from the blue Bug, was this lime green Duster, from days gone by. I spent many an hour in a car just like this one, many, many lifetimes ago. |
1970 Plymouth DusterBeautiful Car |
1968 Pontiac FirebirdI did not take these next four photos. I found them on gaspumpclassics.com Again, I had a friend who had a 68 Firebird with a four speed on the floor. Jesus that car was fast, but not even close to as pretty as this offering. |

1956 Chevrolet 210This car belonged to my Uncle Jack, in Lincoln Nebraska. It was pale yellow. |
1956 Chevrolet 210This shot was taken at my Uncle Jack & Aunt Dorothy's in Lincoln, right across the street from Saratoga School. |
1959 Chevrolet ImpalaThis is a shot of my father's first new car. Shown is his girlfriend at the time, posing with the Imapala. Later she became his wife ... and my mother. |
1959 Chevrolet ImpalaAnother shot of my mother with my father's new car. |
1959 Chevrolet ImpalaKnowing my mother as I do, I can all but guarantee that this was both the very first ... and the very last time, she ever washed a car. Remember, at the time she was still just the girlfriend. Later on she became much more demanding, and far less accommodating; to my father, or anyone else for that matter. |
1959 Chevrolet ImpalaHere is a color shot of the Impala, again across the yard from Saratoga school, in Lincoln. |
1959 Chevrolet ImpalaThis car too, was pale yellow; must have been something in the genes. Here we see the brown interior. |
Chevys; 1956 & 1959Yellow Chevys in the school yard. |
1959 Chrysler WindsorNow, this was a boat. The back of the original photograph states that this car was lime green. How awful. This car belonged to my maternal grandfather. He loved his Chryslers. |
1972 Fiat Spider 124I loved this car. These pictures are poor because they were taken with a cheap camera, twenty years ago. After a few years & two cross country road trips, I decided to finally sell my little Spider & get another motorcycle. I always had one or two of those hanging around. Here the Spider sits outside my house in Lincoln. |
Spider For Sale |
For SaleAfter all of this, throngs of strangers pawing around my car, I ended up selling it to a guy I worked with. |
The PowerhouseThe carburetor on this little monster needed near constant attention. That was about my only complaint. It was such a fun little car to drive. |
1972 Fiat Spider 124I'm a fairly small guy, but my best friend is about 6.1 We took this little car on a thousand mile road trip in 1990 to South Carolina. We drove straight through and at the end, he could barely get out of the car. He still whines about that trip. |
At The ParkI used to go once a week to the park & wax my little Spider. |
Holmes Lake ParkLincoln Nebraska. |
1980 Fiat 1900Ah, another fine Spider. This one I found in a parking lot in Parkville Missouri. |
1980 Fiat 1900This poor woman couldn't figure out just what it was I thought I was doing, wandering around a parking lot taking pictures of an old foreign ragtop. The flash refected the license plate but sans flash, it was too dark for my tastes. |
1980 Fiat 1900Very straight. |
1980 Fiat 1900I know you're wondering, so I'll tell you. Yes, that's real wood. That's why it cracks. Mine was cracked all to pieces. Notice at what a high angle the steering wheel sits. |
1972 Pontiac Grand PrixI owned a car just like the one shown above. Mine was green on green. Fast as hell. I put these pictures up here to better explain the last one in this series. |
1972 GP InteriorAt least one that isn't burned beyond recognition. |
Dash BoardThe stering wheel came down very low and you felt like a fighter pilot when driving this beast. 400ci engine that sent you screaming down the road. The trunk was large enough for three grown adults to climb in when sneaking folks into the drive in movies. |
3rd Degree BurnsI was young okay? I'd been chased early in the evening by local law enforcement & had gotten away. Then, that same evening, or morning, completely unrelated I wrecked my Grand Prix. It subsequently caught fire in the crash. The very same police officer who'd chased me earlier showed up to the accident. This was all that was left of the inside of my Pontiac. I was in the car with a friend of mine & we were both lucky to make it out alive, as you can see. |
1962 Chevrolet C10 PickupI found this old truck sitting in a parking lot of an appliance store. I had an uncle who had one of these. His was a three speed shift, on the column, powered by a little six cylinder engine that just ran & ran & ran. |
1962 Chevy |
1962 Chevy TruckNice interior huh. Well kept. |
1962 Chevy C10 |
1965 Chevrolet Bel AirI saw this car sitting in a parking lot with a For Sale sign in the window. This old rusted out four door had a sticker price of $3,000.00 hanging in the window! It probably cost less than 2k brand spanking new. It was a pretty cool car though. Must have been nice in 65. It has an automatic transmission. I expected 3 on the tree. |
1965 Chevrolet Bel AirI thought this was a cool shot. A dashboard from 1965 with a CD lying on the floorboard. Where's Rod Serling? |
1965 Chevrolet Bel AirAll I need is more money. Then I can have all the cars I want. |
1965 Chevrolet Bel AirVery little rust for a car with forty three winters under her hood. |
1991 Suzuki SamuraiI bought this little Sam in Oceanside California. I used to take it to the beach almost every day. Afterwards I'd pull out the plugs from the floorboards & spray it clean. I loved this little car. |
1991 Suzuki SamuraiThis was taken just up the street from where I spent the summer of 2000. Probably the most beautiful place I've ever lived. I miss it there. |
Welcome To NevadaAt the end of the summer, I drove this little car fully loaded back home to Kansas City. Here's a tip, don't do that. I had this little Samurai so loaded down, I crossed the rockies in 2nd gear. Motorhomes towing boats were passing & honking at me. |
Welcome HomeThe landscape looks a little different from El Cajon, but hey ... it's home. It felt good to cross that river, back into the muggy, mosquito filled, land of the hillbillies. |
Finally HomeAfter the grueling two thousand mile trip I stayed with my friend until found myself a new place. Funny, as eight years later, my own family makes our home in this very same house. |
1991 Suzuki SamuraiYou can't hardly tell I have ties in Nebraska & Austria ... can you? |
At The FarmMost weekends you could find both me, and the Sam ... at the farm. |
1991 Suzuki SamuraiAnd there she sits. I own this little Samurai still. Now however it sits in my garage. |
1974 Datsun PickupI loved this truck. It belonged to my grandfather. He had restored the truck at just over 100,000 miles. It was just to the point of getting ready to paint when he died. My grandmother had it driven from Los Angeles to Lincoln Nebraska. She gave it to me in the summer of 1988. |
1974 Datsun PickupI drove it for a couple of years before I had it painted. (Lazy I guess.) It ran flawless. I drove it back & forth from Columbus to Lincoln, every week, as I was working for the Nebraska Department of Social Services at the time. I was running a group home for troubled teens. I lived in Lincoln but kept an apartment in Columbus. |
1974 Datsun PickupHere's the truck after I had it painted. I put 130,000 miles on this truck, AFTER my grandfather had put a 100,000 on it. I absolutely loved this ride. |
1974 Datsun PickupHere she sits in the driveway of my house in Lincoln. Shown in the background is another of the many motorcycles I've owned over the years. Right after I took this picture I put the cover plate back on the front blinker light. |
1973 Yamaha 250I've had so many motorcycles over the years, I've lost count. These four are a just a few that I have pictures of. The bike shown above I owned while living in Arlington Texas. I rode it to & from work, every single day. |
1979 Yamaha 650 SpecialI had a red one of these as well, but no pictures of it. This was actually my 2nd black 650 special. I liked these bikes. They were fast, they were reliable & they were cheap. I rode this while living in Lincoln Nebraska. |
1985 Yamaha 650 MaximInteresting story. I bought this bike & nearly two thousand miles away, my brother bought the same bike. Same year, same size, same color, everything. I rode this while living in Platte City Missouri. |
1985 Honda 250 RebelThis was actually too small for me. I owned it a very short time while living in San Diego California. |
1961 Chevrolet ImpalaThis car sits in a driveway, about a block from our bank. One day I'll stop and take more pictures. |
1961 ChevyWhat a cool car. Notice it's licensed. Someone drives this car every day. |
1971 Olds Cutlass SupremeWhat a beauty. We saw this car on the way home from the bank. |
1971 Cutlass RagtopA little Photo Editing. This way, only the car shows up. |
1971 Olds Cutlass Supreme |
1971 Olds Cutlass Supreme |
1970 Dodge ChargerWe attended, or tried to, a car show this weekend. It was free, thus unorganized & a complete cluster. These cars were just parked in parking spots & you couldn't really get any decent shots of them. Still, this Dodge is a classic that I simply could not ignore. |
1970 Dodge ChargerThe rear of this wonderful car. It belonged to some teenager. Wow. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeAt least I think it's a 71, maybe a 72. I saw it sitting in the parking lot of a local lube place and went in. The guy who had it said it actually belonged to his mother, who was out of state on business. I took these and in exchange, gave him copies. Just the coolest old ride. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeThe front end had some dings but it was all original, so what would you expect from a thirty five year old car? Beautiful lines. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeThe front end looks similar to a 1971 Buick Electra 225 I once owned. The headlight assembly seems to be identical. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeThese cars could all but fly. 442 cubic inches of raw power sits under the hood. At just about four bucks a gallon, it's not exactly a cheap car to drive, but oh, what fun it must be. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeI could not keep myself from admiring the simple lines of beauty in this design. So sleek. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeI wanted to hear it run, but as I said, the dude who owned the car, or at least the man in charge of it was busy, earning a living. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeRockin cool; this car just oozes cool. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeAlmost flawless interior. Thirty five summers with the sun beating down on it and it still looks GREAT. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeLeft side looks just as good as the right. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeOutstanding! |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeWhat a beautiful car. |
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass SupremeNo color would have been as good with this ride. I bet the white tops really sets it off when it's put up. |
1966 Chevrolet ChevelleAwesome ride. I found this at a local park. The owner swears that's the original paint, original top, with only 29,000 miles on it. Outstanding. |
1966 Chevrolet ChevelleThe rear end. This car screams FAST. What a cool ride. |
1966 Chevrolet ChevelleOriginal Interior. Factory air and an automatic, to boot. Very cool. |
1966 Chevrolet ChevelleNothing says cool quite like the front end of an old Chevelle. |
1971 Chevy Nova SSI saw this bad boy at a local grocery mart. It was flawless. Personally, I could do without the fancy interior, or the goofy steering wheel, but other than that, it was perfect. |
1971 Chevy Nova SSSleek, graceful and mean looking, all at the same time. |
1971 Chevy Nova SSIt just seemed to growl as it sat there. What a fantastic ride. |
1971 Chevy Nova SSBack when America had pride in what came out of Detroit. |
1971 Chevy Nova SSBlack was the perfect color for this graceful beast. |
1971 Chevy Nova SSGrrr. if I could have got more pictures of the interior and the motor, I surely would have. |
1971 Chevy Nova SSThe space age steering wheel is a little goofy, but other than that, this car is picture perfect. |
1971 Chevy Nova SSThe rear looked as good as the rest of her. |
1960 Ford F-100This beauty was sitting on the corner with a For Sale sign on it one very hot Saturday afternoon in Gladstone. The wife and kidfs waited in the air conditioned car while I stood outside taking pictures. What a cool old truck. if only I had some money. Hmm. |
1960 Ford F-100Rear quarter panel profile. What a cool old truck. if I had the money, I'd have a fifty car storage garage and I'd just go around buying this stuff. How cool. |
1960 Ford F-100Front quarter panel profile. Near perfect. Man, it was hot that day. |
1960 Ford F-100Custom Cab. This back when a truck ... was a truck. No air, no power steering, no stereo. A TRUCK! |
1960 Ford F-100A nice interior shot. I wonder what the gas can was for? |
1960 Ford F-100See Ya. Not even a gate security latch, just two chains. Very, very cool. |
1962 Chevy Impala, SSThis baby blue Super Sport was sitting out back, from a garage where I get my wife's car worked on. I couldn't help but snap a few pictures of this cream puff. What a beautiful ride. |
1962 Chevy Impala, SSProfiles in COOL. |
1962 Chevy Impala, SSJust look at the lines on this rig. The baby blue color was a flawless choice for this car. |
1962 Chevy Impala, SSSuper Sport Impala. Awesome! |
1962 Chevy Impala, SSThe dash was clean and all original. I wished I could have got the door open to shoot it. What a beautiful car. This was back when cars had character. |
1962 Chevy Impala, SSSix tail lights and, SEE YA! |
1962 Chevy Impala, SSAnothe rlook at the interior. I miss those huge steering wheels. of course universal power steering made them obsolete, but what's a little obsolesence when you're talking about art? |
1962 Chevy Impala, SSFactory mirror. Small, circular and dripping with chrome. Very nice, indeed. |
1962 Chevy Impala, SSif I could have closed the hood, I would have. The truth is, I cam eback a few days later and the hood was closed. However, is was an awfully rainy day the by then the car had all kinds of other cars parked in close around it. Some days, you just can't win. |
2002 BMW Z3Bayerische Motoren Werke (Bavarian Motor Works). This car too, was sitting out back from the same garage. What a pretty color. |

1967 CitroenThis car was amazing. It was absolutely flawless. I detest the French. I hate every single thing about them: their culture, their cuisine, the air they breathe. Still, this car was utterly amazing. It was parked on the street in Parkville Missouri. |
1967 CitroenBlue on blue. Beautiful. |
1967 CitroenJust look how the top rolls down. The front windows are awesome. |
1967 CitroenThis picture was totally my fault. I didn't even look to see how the sun ruined this shot. Still the front end of this Frog ride is pretty darned cool. |
1977 Ford MaverickI saw this car sitting in a lot with a For Sale sign in the window, in Claycomo Missouri. I remember these old Mavericks. They were one step up from the Pinto. I had four of those in my early years. The Pinto got a bad rap, but man, I'm here to tell you, they were hard to kill. |
1977 Ford MaverickThey had almost identical rear ends as the Pinto. |
1977 Ford MaverickWhat amazed me more than just seeing this old Maverick, is seeing that the owner actually wants $2,500.00 for this old jalopy It's fun to look at & to play, "remember when", but I wouldn't give you $250.00 for it. |
1977 Ford MaverickNotice how the headlamp fittings are missing. |
1971 Cadillac Sedan DeVilleThis car is so cool. Someone chopped up a 1971 Caddy & painted in pink. This car used to be a moving advertisement for a lcoal roller skating rink. The rink closed in 1993 & the tags on this car expired same. Still, someone keeps this car clean & on display out front, even fifteen years later. |
1971 Cadillac Sedan DeVilleWagons Ho! |
1971 Cadillac Sedan DeVilleThey didn't get any larger than this folks. |
1971 Cadillac Sedan DeVilleNotice the expired license plates. |
1975 Chevrolet CorvetteBeautiful offering. This yellow Vette was in the car show in Parkville Missouri. I didn't get near as many pictures of this car as I would have liked. It was ninety degrees outside & my girls were hot & cranky. |
1975 Chevrolet CorvetteThey just oozed cool. |
1975 Chevrolet CorvetteNotice my girls on the far right hand side. As I was taking this, I watched them begin to wilt. We left as soon as the shutter closed on this picture. As cool as the Corvette is, my girls are so much more cool, & much more important than a few pictures of old cars. |
British Mini CooperMy wife saw this car tooling down the road. Had we the time, I'd have followed him & asked to photograph this car properly. I know it's a British Mini Cooper, but I don't know the year or the model. Notice the stering wheel is on the left side. |
1970 Dodge Super BeeI knew these monsters came in yellow, but I'd never seen an orange one before. |
1970 Dodge Super BeeI wish they'd have taken the key out of the lock on the trunk. I tried to edit it out, but the picture refused to come out well. |
1970 Dodge Super BeeWhat a monster. |
1970 Dodge Super BeeCould it possibly be, any more orange? |
1947 Chevy FleetmasterThanks to my cousin Gary for identifying the model. Now this is all class. What a ride. |
1947 Chevy FleetmasterThe steering wheel alone is cool as can be. |
1947 Chevy FleetmasterI blacked out the rear window, as I thought the trees looked silly. |
1947 Chevy FleetmasterIs that enough chrome for you? |
1946 - 1948 Ford Deluxe EightIf anyone can identify the exact year on this cool old Ford, I'm open to suggestions. Personally, I much prefer these old cars when they're restored to factory. What a beauty. |
1946 - 1948 Ford Deluxe EightWhat a neat car. My guess is it didn't come in red when it rolled off the assembly line, but I could be wrong. |
1946 - 1948 Ford Deluxe EightI love the front end on this old Ford. |
1946 - 1948 Ford Deluxe EightVery nice. I noticed however, that for such a large vehicle, the inside was very cramped. |
Red SpeedsterThis was a silly little kit car that I wouldn't have shot, except for the fact that the top spoiler advertised, Lincoln Nebraska. Lots of folks in my gene pool call Lincoln, home. Notice the shadow of me & my daughter's stroller in the shot. |
Red SpeedsterOnly a goober would drive around in this thing. Lincoln is full of them. |
Red SpeedsterThere you go ... Lincoln Nebraska. |
Red SpeedsterNobody wanted to park around this guy it seemed. |
1932 Ford RoadsterThanks again Gary. I had no idea. I just knew it looked cool. I like this chopped up car and I've no idea why. |
1932 Ford RoadsterIs Andy Hardy here? |
1932 Ford RoadsterWhich way to the dragstrip? |
1932 Ford RoadsterAbsolutely and completely ... cool. |
1939 Chevrolet Master DeluxeNormally I don't like the color paint jobs on these old classics, but the red looked good I thought. |
1939 Chevrolet Master DeluxeWhere do you suppose the airbags were? |
1939 Chevrolet Master DeluxeGraceful lines. What a trunk. |
1939 Chevrolet Master DeluxeWonderful boat of a car. I was glad to see that ours wasn't the only stroller around the show. |
1957 Chevrolet CorvetteThis is the coolest car. We've seen it around town for years, so we can attest that it's driven, and not simply trailered around to car shows. |
1957 Chevrolet CorvetteThe lines are fantastic. The similarities to the fighter planes of the 1950's is no accident, I'm sure. |
1957 Chevrolet CorvetteJust awesome. |
1957 Chevrolet CorvetteNow this kind of ruined it for me. Notice the stereo remote control? Not very 1957 is it? I know, I know ... but these things bug me. |
1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88I loved these cars. My grandfather had a 64 Delta 88 that was gold. My guess is that this is an original color for this car. |
1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88Look how long and sleek the lines are. Beautiful. |
1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88What a great interior. Simply, superb. |
1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88Sa ... sa ... sa ... see ya. |
1957 Ford Fairlane 500Now these cars were cool right out of the factory. I have to say however, I don't care for the paint job. |
1957 Ford Fairlane 500You could throw a party right there in the front seat. |
1957 Ford Fairlane 500Sans top. It raised up and FOLDED down under and into the trunk. Sooooo cool. |
1957 Ford Fairlane 500Truly unique. |
1967 Pontiac FirebirdI have some pictures I took from the net of a 1968 Firebird on the previous Automobile gallery. What a beautiful car. It just looks fast. I had a friend who owned one of these and I can tell you from experience, its looks aren't deceiving. |
1967 Pontiac FirebirdI kept waiting for some dude to finally put the hood down. No such luck. |
1967 Pontiac FirebirdAnother rear end shot. |
1967 Pontiac FirebirdI wish it had the original steering wheel. |
1939 PlymouthThis is a wonderful example of a ruined car. The paint job looks like ice cream to me. Then again, lots of folks like this. |
1939 PlymouthIf you're confused about the year while driving, just look over at the glove box. The shifter looks like the ones that came with the Chevette. |
1939 PlymouthPaging Dr. Sublime. |
1939 Plymouth |
1969 Chevrolet El CaminoNow this is more like it. |
1969 Chevrolet El CaminoI can just picture this car screaming up the 101 north of San Diego. |
1969 Chevrolet El CaminoThe buckets were cool. |
1969 Chevrolet El CaminoRemember this car in, "Harold & Maude"? When they stole that palm tree and were being chased by the motorcycle cop, played by, Stacy Keach, up the freeway? What a wonderful film and a truly wonderful ride. |
1955 Black ChevyRight out of American Graffiti. Okay, we'll play this game again. Remember when Harrison Ford tells Cindy Williams as she's whining about the black 55 looking fast as she's getting in? He says, "you'll be holding on for dear life once I get this sucker rollin honey". Great line. Great film. Great car. |
1955 Black ChevyA need for speed. |
1955 White ChevyI really liked the four door. The painted bumpers, although not original, looked neat I thought. |
1955 White ChevyNotice the blue pin tail lights glued to the center of the red ones? |
1955 Brown ChevyThis one looked even more factory. Fantastic. |
1955 Brown ChevySuch a good looking grill. Simple lines. |
1955 Brown ChevyInterior looks great. |
1955 Brown ChevyFour dollars a gallon doesn't look too good from here. |
1968 Mustang Shelby California EditionThese were a limited edition. As old as these cars are, I remember them. My father always wanted one & like so many other Americans, just couldn't swing it financially. This one however, was local. It was sold at the Ford dealership just down the road. That idiot woman in the background was following her boyfriend with a camera phone all around the parking lot. She'd stop ... pose & whine, "ha, don't take MY picture", then strike another ridicules pose. |
1967 Mustang Shelby California EditionThe rear lights worked like the Mercury Cougar lights when the turn signal was engaged. Sort of like marque lights on an outdoor advertisement. |
1967 Mustang Shelby California EditionThe interior was flawless. |
1967 Mustang Shelby California EditionThe power plant. |
1939 Ford DeluxeThis is another perfect example of a completely ruined car. What a nice ride, turned into a bloody cartoon. |
1939 Ford DeluxeThe dash looked clean though. Very nice. Thanks Gary for identifying the make & year. |
1959 Chevrolet ImpalaI never saw one of these cars until a few years ago. Now it seems I see them around every street corner. |
1959 Chevrolet ImpalaLove the color. |
1967 Chevrolet CamaroShown in the windshield was the original sticker. This car just rocked. |
1967 Chevrolet CamaroAnother, near perfect interior. |
1967 Chevelle SS 396I have my doubts as to whether or not this car was an original Super Sport, but it sure was pretty. |
1967 Chevelle SS 396Those were the neatest shifters. You had to pull back on that lever in order to move it forward & back. I actually owned a 1966 Chevelle that had one. Many, many lifetimes ago. |
1970 Chevrolet CamaroMy sister had a 1970 Camaro; a blue one with baby moons for wheels. It had a 350 engine and a two speed transmission. Yeah, TWO speed automatic. |
1970 Chevrolet CamaroYeah, that's the interior I remember. |
1965 Chevrolet ImpalaI have shots of another 65 Impala on the previous Automobile Gallery. This one looks simple, which is why I enjoyed it. |
1965 Chevrolet BiscayneSome of these had six tails lights instead of just four. I could never keep the models or the years straight between them. If someone out there knows, enlighten me please. |
1941 ChevroletA good looking ride. |
1941 ChevroletElegant, despite the loud paint job. |
1941 ChevroletThe sun was not kind to me this afternoon, and I failed to pack my lens protector. Still, I like the interior shots. |
1941 ChevroletSleek, isn't she? |
1946 FordThis looks like the same car, but it isn't. |
Chevrolet C10 TruckI love this body style. This truck is much more appealing to me, simply because it's original. |
1970 Chevrolet CorvetteAnyone who doesn't like a Corvette, is a Communist. |
1940 ChevroletI have a cousin who says this is a 1940 Chevrolet. |
1934 Gold Ford CoupeObviously, I don't have any idea what this car is. Someone signed in on this gallery and suggested it was a 1934. |
1934 Gold Ford CoupeI hate the color, but the car was rockin cool. Those wide white wall tires made it look very 1950's Hot Rod style. |
1934 Gold Ford CoupeInterior of the mystery coupe. |
Adobe KingI blacked out everything but the car. I shot this bad boy at a car show in Northtown in 2007. |
WillysWhen I was in military school, I saw scads of these things running around campus & in the town where my school was located, but not many since. This one we found in the parking lot of our bank one day when we stopped to do some business. |
WillysThey look really fun, but they ride like hell and they only go about fifty miles an hour, downhill with the wind at your back. A modern day Jeep is much more practical, if you can call a Jeep practical, but these are still way cool. |
WillysAll the creature comforts you need in an antique Willys. |
WillysGreat old ride. |
Mack Dump TruckOkay, so it's not an automobile. However, I think everyone needs one of these sitting in the driveway. |
HONKHow would you like to hear a horn honking, look in your rear view mirror and see this? |
The Wheelhouse"So we hit the gate doin 98, I said let them truckers roll, ten-four". I love this big bastard. |
Backin-UpBacking in to a parking space with a trailer would be a real treat with this baby. |
Four WindsThis belongs to a friend of mine, the same guy who owns the dump truck. (One of two he owns) He bought this for his wife because she said she wanted one to take trips with. So, they did ... once. Since then it's been parked in the field behind the farm house, like this, for a few years now. |
Beep BeepYou gotta love cartoon characters painted on the side of your mobile house. |
Where's The Beach?I've no idea how long it takes for a motorhome to completely rot; but I think I'm going to find out. |
ArtThat's what this vehicle has become. Yard Art. |
1967 Mercury CougarMy parents had one of these cars. It was this same year and color. As far as I know, it could be his car, but I doubt it. I still remember my father driving up in the driveway with it, while my mother questioned whether or not a family of four needed this vehicle as our main car? It sure was cool though. |
1967 Mercury CougarAt nine years old, I thought the front headlights assembly raising up the way they did, and the rear tailights blinking in sequence from inward, outward, was the coolect thing. This car was awesome; IS awesome. Hard to believe she's forty years old. |
1967 Mercury CougarThe interior is lean and mean. Again, this one was original and it doesn't get any more cool than that. Forty summers have turned up the dashboard on the far right end, but other than that, this interior was flawless. |
1967 Mercury CougarSmoke em if you got em. I can just see these rear tires light up at a stop light, once it turns green. Obviously I've no idea who owns this car, but whoever it is, thanks very much for the ride down memory lane. |
Das KubelwagenThe original JEEP. That's right folks, before the US government once again copied the Krauts and created the "General Purpose" Vehicle, better known as the "GP" and later, The Jeep, the Germans had their own all terrain vehicle, Das Kubelwagen. These next four pictures were pulled from the internet. |
Das KubelwagenI found these four shots on the internet. Very cool pictures of the Kubelwagen. |
Das KubelwagenPre "THING" interior. |
Das KubelwagenRemember seeing these in Rat Patrol? I loved that show as a kid. |
1972 Volkswagen ThingI saw this on the streets of Kansas City and I had to stop and snap a few pictures. What a cool old ride. |
1972 Volkswagen ThingYou just don't see many of these on the road anymore. Talk about bare bones transportation. |
1972 Volkswagen ThingLeave it to the German's to completely take out the fluff. |
1972 Volkswagen ThingMany folks don't realize that the doors on these little boogers come right off. |
Number 24This cool little car was made a gift for my neighbor's fifteen year old boy. He races these things every summer. The summer racing season had ended and the car was due for some celaning before the winter storage. |
Number 24That steel steering wheel pops right off and this young man just climbs in. I've no idea how a young man of 5.7 or 5.8 can squeeze his legs in that tiny space, but he says it's not a problem. |
Number 24Apparently, they call this a "Non-Wing" car because of the absence of a wing on the top of the car. My neighbor tells me his boy screams around the track in this thing at fifty or sixty miles an hour. Awesome. |
Number 24This little car will burn four or five gallons in an evening worth of racing. The front wing simply acts to help keep the car down, on the track where it belongs. |
Number 24The car uses different sized tires, which I found interesting. The tires on the right side of the car are much wider than the tires on the left. That's because more force is applied to the right side tires as the car races around in a left hand turn during racing. |
Number 24The car is powered by a 600 CC Yamaha motorcycle engine and is slung low on the left side of the car. It's done so because it helps to distribute weight and counter act against centrifugal force as the car continually turns left around the track. |
Number 24Interesting hobby. My neighbor says the racers are continually at risk for accidents such as roll overs, collisions, bashing through barricades and other assorted crashes. Then when asked, he said he isn't too worried about his boy, because he says, he's a good driver. He knows what he's doing and his parents have faith in him. |
Number 24Proud owner of Number 24; my neighbor's boy, James. I still can't believe that a boy this tall can squeeze into a cage, that small and rip around a track at fifty miles an hour. |
