Thank you JimmieJoe. I'll tell you story behind this image. I arrived here before sunrise and waited for nearly an hour and a half for the scene to light up. I was hoping for a canoe or kayak to come paddling down but no luck. Then all of a sudden a great blue heron landed and started walking along the edge looking for breakfast. My camera was mounted to a tripod but my range was too far. I started sneeking up on the "Shy One" and as I got within range the bird took off flying up river. With my camera still mounted to my tripod (legs colapsed), I picked up the tripod and camera and held it against my shoulder like a rifle. Using the LCD like a scope I fired the shot. Now that's what we call shooting an image don't you think? LOL! A while back on OTF there was an interesting thread about how folks hold their camera. I thought it was pretty humorous at the time -- guess there IS more than one way to hold a camera. (http://www.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1008&message=3535500 )

Thanks for your vote and comment. I'm glad you liked the image. -- LC

Hey, Leo...

Just wanted to let ya know, I voted for this shot as 'first place'...
I thought it was a super composition...loved the colors/saturation...and the theme.

BTW...I also voted for your Witches Brew, as 'third place' :-)

Nice work, Leo.
