Jim Bacchiocchi has been fixing shoes for 45 years at this location.  He has owned Monroe Shoe Repair for 34 of these years.  He started at 10 years of age working as an apprentice to the original owner, Phillip T. Drago.  When Jim first became an apprentice Phillip told him to be thrifty and save his money so that one day Jim could buy the business.  Jim bought the business for cash in 1977 when Phillip retired after spending 50 years repairing shoes himself.

 

 The last cobbler in Orange County, Jim truly enjoys his work and especially appreciates the relationship he has with his customers.
