Rain, Rain, Flood

The tree was almost perfect except that the only place to park was on the side of the tree which just happen to be at the intersection of three “dry” washes.

Just to be safe, I thought that I would build an elevated platform to park on out of dirt and rocks in case I happen to be there during a heavy rainfall. As you can see from the image, it kind of worked for the first couple of light rains . But then we got a big thunderstorm, and things got a little crazy.

I made a short video of it here:

I had to stop filming at the end because I thought the car was going to go into the canal. Fortunately, everything worked out. After much cleaning and rebuilding, the car and campsite were good again. Needless to say, I had to find a different place to park after this (which will be the subject of the next set of images).
