He reminds me of a small frog called a "spring peeper" (pseudacris crucifer) that we have in my region. They sing by inflating their throat membranes. The eye is beautifully flecked with gold, and seems to be gazing into some small universe we can never possibly comprehend. The rich, warm browns are subtle and lovely.

I agree with all the other comments plus he looks chameleon like in the way he blinds. into the background. Do their skin coloring adapt to the surrounding colors?

He does nearly dissapear into his surroundings doesn't he! You were lucky to find him for your picture! This is really a very well done froggie foto, with his eye and nose in focus.
