He is magnificent and you've portrayed him in his full glory. Look at those antlers! Your colors are terrific - focus is spot-on - everything just clicks in this one. Kudos.

lol Well Miro, I'm no Dr. Dolittle but, I do talk to these wild animals and they just must think "This woman is sure nuts!" LOL

Shirley, it's just beautiful. Sometimes I wonder, are you some kind of DR. Doolittle.

Yes Mr. Smith is in a State Park. There are a large number of deer in the park and they are scattered about the nearly 3,000 acres the park covers. I've heard that the do allow bow hunting to thin the population about every 3 years which I want to protest. These deer are wild but they are also not afraid of humans anymore. I think it would be like shooting fish in a barrel and the idea makes me sick. New York's central park has the right idea. They let hunters come in and dart the females with birth control. Much more humane!!

Rich, yes i agree. the human touch is the factor which makes an image outstanding. But, it would be nice to have some of those super high grade lenses. Shirley, Is Mr. Smith in a protected zone? I'd hate for those dreaded throphy hunters to claim him.

Carlo, it is not just the glass, I have a 50-200 and my E500 and my eye and hands do not create images like this. Shirly has a magic combination of equipment and or a magic touch.

Shirley, I love the life like quality you always manage to create with your animals, be it a Deer, bird or cat. Well, cats are easy but the others are often hard capture, well… :) strange sentence structure but I'll leave it as is

Yes, he knew I was there and he knows me too! He's been watching me as long as I have him (for about 3 years now). His antlers really got larger this year! He's a really nice buck, the friendliest guy in the woods. I still wont get out of the car during rut season though. Good ol' Mr. Smith (named after the apples I gave him for treats last winter).

Putting that 50-200 to good use Shirley? How do you get so close? He's a real beauty! Alistair
