Curious George Waves Bye-bye!!-Shirley
by Shirley Haden

This was a lot harder to get from my head to here then I thought it would be! I worked on this project for 4 hours today LOL First finding a monkey was 2 hours of store to store to store and then I hit the jackpot and actually found Curious George himeself. Then I get the balloons and then I went down to the river to find someone with some fishing line to lend me. Got everything I needed and off to shoot him flying over Saint Paul. Trouble is I get on location and find out, 3 balloons won't pick George off the ground at all! LOL Well, I didn't get him with any exciting things in the background today but...I got him! Wave Good-bye Curious George!

This is wonderful Shirley. I love the simplicity of the colour and composition. A real winner!

This would also have been a great picture for Primary colors. Made me laugh. Thanks.

Charlie, I did get him flying over some trees but opted for this one for now. I had so much fun (in the end) that I think I should just do a series of Curious George shots. Ha!

Richard, I didn't use the fishing line as the balloons wouldn't get off the ground! I had Marv hold him up with a stick up the back of his shirt LOL Then PS'd it out of the shot. Next time I will get more balloons! It woulda worked for downtown shots but the wind was blowing enough to mess that up. Went to the woods to shoot this.

Don, if this makes your daughter smile then that would make me happy!

I will have to show my daughter this one tomorrow.

Hahaha - sometimes life gets so serious it is nice to have a real pick-me-up. Photography is about so much more than a graphical composition - it really should incorporate life as well - well done Shirley.

Shirley your imagination works well and you can apply it. I like that abilty. Your Curious George is better than I expected and I can see that color still plays an important part of your work. Very good job, Where is the fishing line?

Oh this makes my day! Curious George is the best literature ever! ;-) I love the well thought out conceptual nature of this. Yes maybe St Pauls cathedral in the background would be nice but this stands on it's own just great!
