My Father's Paint Box by Stephen Bray

Amos Beach, Turkey

My father probably hadn't used these paints for twenty years. He died in 1997. I kept them but never got around to trying them out. I like the degradation of the colours due to time, and misuse.

Nice job with the light and shadows, which complement the aged tin and paints. The photo's both charming and nostalgic.

Stephen - a lot of courage to share what is very personal. Even the lighting talks of reminiscence. Thanks for sharing.

There's a nice history in this one. Well done Stephen, a nice start to the comp.

A very touching picture. I wish I had the time and talent to paint, and always feel photography is a bit of a cheat for these times when the 'instant' is king. Alistair

I love the memories this envokes. I don't think I've seen an old watercolor set for a long time. I can almost remember the order the colors were in. Even though a quick rinse underwater would clean it right up, I don't think I would do it.

Lots of history in those paints Stephen. Nice homage to your dad.
