That's an interesting piece of construction. I hope it holds! Do those small cross pieces serve as a way of climbing up, I wonder? Barry

No, the wood is there to support the steel until the concrete structure is done. I added a photo to my DPR gallery showing the roadway to the left of this section which is more complete. In it you can see the support tower that they poured. It's interesting to see work like this going on. Usually it's hard to get close enough to get a good, unobstructed photo. There was a hole in the fence...

Is this bridge actually going to have wooden beams to hold it? It's been a long time since I've seen wooden support for a bridge. Around here (as far as I know) they are all iron and concrete. I remember seeing wooden framed bridges in South Dakota in the Black Hills Mountains. Very interesting to see.
