Maple Leaf by Cindy

Greenbelt, MD, USA

As I walked around the lake this past weekend, enjoying the fall color, this single red maple leaf caught my attention.

Welcome Cindy! I thought this looked a lot like a collage, with the layers of leaves on concrete, topped off with one outstanding red leaf. Very nice composition!

I like the play of textures and colours here, also the general composition.

I like the tenuous display of a leaf's life span. the old ones decaying into the earth and the newly fallen leaf displaying what life is left.

I agree with Conrad; the colors and textures are terrific. Welcome to these challenges, Cindy. I hope you'll stick around! --Stefan

I love this, the colors, the textures, and the thought that soon the red will fade and this leaf will become like those that have fallen before it ... nothing is permanent.

I like how you have incorporated the main leaf with the others that are farther along in the recycle loop - a bit of living history. Nice use of shapes.

Really nice, the brilliant reds really stands out against the browns and greys of the track. The wetness helps to describe the season as well (well, its wet here a lot this time of year, we have your left over east coast storm at the moment, no snow, just rain!)

What a beautiful shot! The color of the leaf is enhanced by its glaze of rain.
