Onze Molen Durbanville (CB)
by Collin Baxter

This is a popular land mark for lost drivers in our area. This is a restored old mill which steems back to our Dutch heritage the mill was built it 1800 and used until the early 1900’s.
It has been resorted and is operational if not functioning. When I was there a breeze came up and I heard the chains that lock the blades down creaking and clacking inside. I would have loved to let them free.

One day in the not to distant future these will come back into use....Well maybe not this one.
I like this treatment, goes with the age of the building I think

Thanks for the comments. I was torn with colour or bw I like the colour but noticed that I lost the blades in the big dark blue sky. I have posted the original colour in the originals gallery mybe you can give me a push. I just wish there where more things as well resored as this mill.

Excellent image of this old windmill. Good choice to present it in B&W, and a really nice job with the conversion and toning. It's great that these important pieces of history are still around for all to see...and photograph

What a beautiful old windmill. Nice shot Collin, like the PP treatment which adds to its charm. Wouldn't mind seeing the colour version in the originals gallery.
