Black-necked Stilt - melanurus - Ensley - 6-10-08

Note white crown (black in mexicanus), white upper mantle (black in mexicanus)
Brownish tinge to mantle indicates female. This subspecies tend to be longer winged than mexicanus and averages slightly larger. I'll try to get compaitive photos of the pair.
