This Red-necked Grebe was found out from the observation platform at Britton Ford, TN-NWR, Henry Co. TN.
Sleeping grebes fold their heads back and because of their long necks, the head is seen midway of the back. This distant bird, when compared in size to the various species of ducks nearby, was too short in body for a Western or Clark's and too large for Horned or Eared. ID - Red-necked.
