During my first visit to Colorado, in 2011, I drove around the state for about two weeks and got back to Denver in early October, several days after the Cussler Museum had concluded its May-to-September season. So I missed an opportunity to view the awesome automobile collection of best-selling novelist Clive Cussler in nearby Arvada.

In the summer of 2016, I returned to Colorado. And once again, the museum's schedule proved to be a challenge: During its five-month season, it is open Monday through Thursday only. So I wasn't able to visit the Arvada museum when I had some time to spare during my last weekend in the Boulder area. But, fortunately, I managed to squeeze in a 30-minute visit on the busy and touch-and-go Monday before I left the state. And here are the shots I was able to "grab." Unsure of whether I could actually visit the museum that day, I didn't arrange for PBase photographer and Colorado friend Dan Greenberg to meet me there. I did have dinner with him and his wife, Monique, a few days earlier.
