This gallery features an image of the huge poster displayed at the main entrance of the 37th Salon Retromobile held in Paris Feb. 1 - 5, 2012. The same layout appeared in January and early February as a full-page ad in automotive publications in France, the United Kingdom and other European countries. Included here are images of the covers and inside pages of the January and February 2012 issues of UK's Octane magazine, where the full-page 2012 Retromobile ad was published twice.

The annual Retromobile exhibition is one of the largest classic car shows in Europe. It is attended by automobile collectors, dealers and enthusiasts from all over the world, including many major players from the United States.

One of my photos of a 1939 Delahaye Type 165 Cabriolet by Figoni & Falaschi was selected in early 2011 for this event's poster. Advertising and other promotional materials for the 2012 show revolved around that image. The photo was used with my permission, as well as with the blessing of the owners of the car, Peter Mullin and the Los Angeles-based Peter Mullin Automotive Museum Foundation. Art direction, design and execution were provided by the Bon Angle Agency, a Paris firm.

In this PBase gallery, I am pleased to share a resized copy of the original version of the photo chosen by Retromobile's organizers, along with other pictures of the 1939 Delahaye, all of which I took at the 2009 Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance in Michigan. This automobile won the "Best of Show" award in the foreign-car category at that event, now known as the Concours d'Elegance of America at St. John's.
