Santa Fe Concorso -- Nearly the Entire Field, September 2011

The second Santa Fe Concorso was held on Sept. 25, 2011. It was a strong successor to a very successful inaugural effort in 2010. As before, the venue was the La Mesita Equestrian Center. And, once again, the event and the panel of judges were graced by the presence of Sir Stirling Moss, Al Unser, Sr., and Denise McCluggage. This year, they were joined by fellow racing legends Bobby Allison and Bob Bondurant.

This is the third of my three galleries on the 2011 Concorso. It features nearly the entire field of about 75 top-notch vehicles, which were categorized into the following classes: American Pre-War to 1931, American Pre-War 1932-1941, European Pre-War, American Post-War, European Post-War, Sports & GT to 1960, Sports & GT 1961-1967, American Iron, Specialty & Race Cars, Competition Motorcycles, and Street Motorcycles. In addition, there were special exhibits featuring Can-Am Race Cars, "The Need for Speed," and "Then & Now."

For me, the cars were naturally the main attraction. But several wonderful "treats" also came my way, namely meeting Sir Stirling Moss and wife Lady Susie Moss, Denise McCluggage, restorer Paul Russell, and Dan Greenberg. Most title and caption information here came from cards displayed with the cars. I plan to add background details about some of them before the end of 2011.
