A rare coral fungus with only 10 scattered records below a line stretching from The Wash to Shropshire and a first record for Nottinghamshire. Growing with oak and hawthorn. Determined from the photos of a Notts resident and from a dried specimen of the fungus pictured here. Spores spiny and size critical, cyanophilous (turning blue) in Cotton Blue stain.
