My house is just above where photo 27800193.J4100016 was taken. It's not that desolate here in Bettyhill. We have 2 shops, street lights, fish and chip shop, school, swimming pool, a hotel and 178 people - and that's it. I used to live in Oxfordshire - now I remember why I moved here. I have to look at this scenery everyday on the way to work - the only thing that slows us up is the occaisional deer, not nose to tail with other traffic. What you can't see in the photos is the clean air... These are a great set of photos which really capture what it's like up here.

So many of these shots are taken in soft misty light which gives the images a timeless, melancholic feel. A very captivating gallery.

Great gallery, it's really nice up by Durness. Did you try Sandwood Bay? We went there a couple of years back, perhaps the path in might not be as suitable for the kids, but it's very very beautiful. I'm going to add a gallery as soon as amazon finally delivers my copy of photoshop!
