Balquain Castle

The sun sweeps over the fields.
In and out of the clouds,
fresh and bright.
Now we're heading down the road to Perth.
My mother is getting the dinner on...

The row of hedges catches my eye then sweep up the hill to catch the graceful shadows sweeping down from the hills. And, there tucked away in the shadows, that mournful tower.
Fantastic.
Now, if someone would only take down that lousy hydro pole.

Hi,
Once tried to buy this Towerhouse but the owner jumped the price from £30K to £80K onver night prior to the day I was to close the deal. I have photos of this wonderful tower over 100 years old which shows most of the super structure still surviving. May be in 100 years from now there will be nothing left. I'm now building my own reproduction 16th century Fortified Towerhouse just 1/2 mile south of Turriff in the Den of Gask. Hope to have it finished by the summer of 2008.
So sad to see such beautiful Scottish history falling into decay and no help from Historic Scotland or Ancient Monumonts.
This castle is only one of very many in this state.

Absolutely beautiful. I recommend a hacksaw for that electrical pole. :^)

like the contrast to yesterday's rain. is that your mother's house? if so - I think she needs to get the roofer in. ;)
