5th September, Benachie

These bales are everywhere now!
So I thought I might as well get a picture of some.
In the background is local landmark, Benachie.
At the top, there is an Iron Age fort.
Still fine and warm today,
cloudy though, so not too hot...

This is a great image, I like the cloudy sky a lot too, gives it moodiness.

Great composition here, difficult to get an interesting shot of these bales but you managed it!

I am totally wild about this one. Really outstanding.

I agree totally with Stewart - you ARE the master of this!

Excellent composition. You have an excellent eye for photography, Andy.

the prehistoric site gives the hill in the background a nice shape. like the warm colours
of the bales in the foreground.

These may be efficient to produce...but they just don't do it for me...nice photo, though.

Jude, it is pronounced "Benna-hee"

Nice warm golden tones to this.. i like the way they are in this 3-set composition with the um.. mountain thingie in the back.
I need to know how to pronounce it too for when I come to Scotland... someday.lol

Nice colors

Ok. Now, for us yanks, how DO you pronounce Benachie? (ben-u-KEE?) LOL!

Very nice picture, I can almost smell the fields. I love the combinations of the gold, green and cloudy sky.

Great image, with warm gold & cool grey of the sky. Oh & the smell would be fantastic.

I remember standing at the top of Benachie listening to some Americans who'd just climbed up... "ben-ahhh-ch-ee". Nice, but not as good as the urban legand about the tourists up Edinburgh Castle looking out across the Firth of Forth to Fife - "that must be France".

I was just thinking that too - there are bales of hay in most fields you pass at the moment. Like what you've done with these ones!
Guest 05-Sep-2004 18:58
Good Image
Zak05-Sep-2004 18:48
hay-tastic!

Benachie, I recognize the title from an Old Blind Dogs song.

I guess I have to admit that fall is near, lovely photo.

Lots of these this time of year, but I think you've managed to do something a bit different. I like it! Thanks, Wes.
