Respected NMK. The photos of Peshawar are simply mind blowing. I salute your eyes for looking at things from an angle which an ordinary soul can not. I salute the creative genius in you for capturing some amazing moments in your camera. When ever you come to Islamabad, Rawalpindi you would be my guests. We would have a nice dinner and a long Gup Shupon the days of Peshawar of 1982-92. Regards Mukarram Dad.Cell 030051178150

Qadarmanda Noor Khana,
I am really impressed with your artwork and the preservation of some history that no longer exists: the streets and roads of Peshawar, the beauty of the Northern areas, and the calligraphy, etc. I really appreciate your contribution as a preserver of the heritage.

You are doing a great job.
Phil 26-Feb-2009 21:09
Salam alakum Noor

As an Indophile and frequent visitor to the subcontinent ( 5-6 years over the last 30),its a pleasure to view your photos, you caught those last slow moments before comercialisation overwhelmed everything, when tongas took you to the station, the tea came in a diposable clay cups, and people just sat and watched.I particularly like the Kangra albumn.
Now you're as far west as it gets, and I suppose even S.F.can feel like a trap.
Best wishes
Phil

We love your photographs as they take us back in time as if on a flying carpet—offering a fantastic kaleidoscopic view of the people, scenery and customs of Pakistan. Every photo provides unique insight to the history, economy, and politics of Pakistan and Afghanistan during that period. Thanks so much for sharing your photos and allowing us a glimpse of your life. My husband particularly loves the shots with the horses as he’s an avid horse fanatic as well as a Pashtun!

Hi, Noor,
I found your site while looking for a photo of the "purple house" in San Francisco. We just got back from a trip there. Your photos of the houses in SF are what I wish I had taken! Beautiful work. I really enjoyed all your photos of San Francisco. I've bookmarked you and will definitely come back again and check out your photos from other places. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Noor, Your site has left me breathless!! I am sitting here in my study, in a small coastal Oregon town, looking out, across my Tibetian Prayer flags, to the sea stacks and beautiful Pacific ocean; also surfing the web, reliving some of my travels- when my re-journey to Ladakh led me to you!! I was there same time as you- Namaste! Thank you so much for sharing yourself and your photos- I am entranced. I also have many photographic memories of my world wanderings, and, Insha Allah, hope to have opportunity to capture more, but- takes a special person, such as yourself, to share experiences with so many people. My heart quickens and I am grateful. Thank you.

I might never have the chance to visit your beautiful country for reasons beyond my control. Your pictures show the world what the western media never has and never will. Thank you. I became more interested in seeing Afghanistan after reading The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns. I am a school teacher, the only liberating force for any person is education. I wonder how i can be of help.

dear friend, i look forward to more images in your fascinating galleries. i would want to embrace the whole sub-continent as my own place, as you appear to do. but i am told if i did go to pakistan i will never get a visa to visit my old mother in new delhi. how sad is that? national pride and national histories are fine things, but the world belongs to all of us--how sad that we forget that. thanks for sharing, and in anticipation of more from your colection of amazing memories and experience. cheers, p/s
