A beautiful hike to the north from Slate Peak along Gold Ridge brings us
to a lonely camp atop Pt 7490, about a mile from Pasayten Peak.
Clouds thicken in the eastern Pasayten Wilderness, and within an hour
we are tent-bound by rain, wind, and fog.
