I liked his 'closer' crop of the lightning, but I think the tree adds to it.
So, I took his #3 & #4 crop, took the image of the tree from #3 and added it to #4, merging the two. I took out the tree just to the left and right of the 'main' tree, keeping some of the shadow at the base of it.
