Edited by Christine
I really liked the original image, but there were a few things that were bothering me.
First, I know you couldn't exactly kick the people out of the building, but let's get rid of the girl by zooming to 400% and then using small clone brush on new layer. Because the other person, I think a guy, was 'behind bars', I thought it added character so 'he' stayed.
I then used Levels, only green and blue channels, bringing the left sides to rest of the histogram.
Then made another layer, ALT-new layer, set mode to overlay, opacity to 50%, checked box for fill with neutral color, set paintbrushes to default, then used the foreground of black to selectively burn here and there on the 'grass', tree limbs and parts of the stonework to bring out the texture. Doing it this way, I was able to non-destructively burn.
Merged and saved.
