Ardoyne was built in 1894 and named after a Scottish Castle
The plantation used migrant workers from Germany Italy and Africa in transition from using slavery to grow and harvest sugar cane.
Ardoyne is open to the public for tours. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
