According to the Paris Peace Accords, the last US military personnel must leave Vietnam 60 days after the Accords went into effect, which is March 29, 1973. Accordingly, the amount of staffs of AP Saigon Bureau was also reduced. They decided to facilitate me to use all facilities and transportation equipment within the 1 Military Stategic Zone from Sa Huynh to Quang Tri, to cover the violations of the accords. For that, the Saigon Bureau Chief issued me this document as kind of authorization.
When signed this authorization, Richard Pyle didn't know that two years later, it became the proof of my employment for AP headquarters in NY to start their efforts to rescue me.
