Homeless Encampment

I came across this on the loading dock of the closed Spaghetti Works building. It jarred me. I have seen pictures and read articles but this was a reality check for me. I happened to read today that there are 544,000 homeless people in the USA.
If you enlarge this picture you have more of the sense of what is someone's belongings open to the elements.

Our city has a plan to end homelessness, but we are failing miserably. That tells me not only is this a sad situation but it must be complex. Which means we must try harder. Well seen. V

It very well should get to everyone when seen.. and this person seems to have it better than many who have to live on public street with less. There are many who live like this but actually have jobs and work every day.

If our hearts are not hurt by these things, we will never solve the problems.

It really is a sad way to live. The city really should take care of these poor souls. Great documentation of this derelict area through your lens, Neil!. I see that two clever folks have created a little privacy for themselves out of various "found" objects.
