American Indian festival

Each year American Indians from various parts of the country come to take part in a festival in Wichita, Kansas. It was a learning experience for me. All appeared to me to be dignified, mostly serious about their appearance and role in the occasion. Their religious beliefs were a good part of their dances.

This is a fine gallery, Neil. You have captured the solemnity of the occasion. Yes, the costumes and headdresses are colourful, but isn't it wonderful that these old ways and beliefs are still being passed down through the generations. You mentioned that this gathering takes place each year and I am wondering if anyone knows how long they have been meeting, and from various parts of the country., and particularly ...why Wichita ? Must be a special place to them. Lucky you. Regards.
