Ned & Sara and mother gray whale and her calf

We spent two days on the lagoon and it was an experience of a lifetime.

Maybe you have taken whale watching trips where they take you offshore a couple miles
and you may see a fluke or blow or something in the distance. Big wup!

Here at Scammon's lagoon where the California Grays have their calves it's non-stop action.
The mothers push their calves right up to the boat and you can touch them. At one point our
panga was surrounded by three whales, sometimes diving right under the boat, sometimes
sticking their snouts up for a closer look. Absolutely amazing!
