PILEATED WOODPECKER - ISO 400

The suet feeder had been emptied, so this big bird tried to eat from the regular seed feeder. This was the first time I had ever seen one of these birds attempt to feed from that feeder. He was actually successful! Taken through a double-paned window. Heavily cropped image, as the LX-5 zoom tops out at 90mm. Program setting, with a -1/3 manual exposure compensation. Standard Color. Automatic white balance.

I've never seen a pileated at my feeder like this. I have been surprised by smaller woodpeckers feeding at it and also mourning doves, who barely can get into it. Looks like your ring may be broken. You know there's a lifetime warranty on this feeder if you got it at Wild Birds Unlimited. They'll fix it for you.
