A "Bearfootin'" decorated bear, on Main Street, Hendersonville, North Carolina. "Bearfootin"', in Downtown Hendersonville, has been a highly popular annual public art display. The bears are sponsored by area businesses and are colorfully decorated in different themes by area artists. The bears reside on the sidewalks of Downtown, in front of the sponsoring businesses. Each October the bears are sold at public auction, with proceeds going to various local charities.
