Sunday, while staining the toe kicks (not installed yet) and crown molding for the kitchen, I decided to sand and stain all of the cab doors and drawers. I did not leave a note for Jim about this, since I expected to see him the next day. We ended up not meeting and I had no idea he would put the doors back on! Now I need to remove the doors on the waste pull-out, pantry, and DW cab to stain them, and take the drawers back out to do this, too. The doors and drawers from the sink going to the right were not even sanded, so I can take them out and do them, too. I cannot stain in the house unless I move out. Hydrocarbon fumes set off my asthma. I can do staining outside, wearing a good mask. Jim put new veneer on the front of the MW cab and on the side of the pantry because the wood was marred in places. The cabs are 23 years old, after all! I am not sure how we are going to manage to stain these areas, maybe I can teach my husband how and spend the day with friends.
