Polarizer was probably not used on DSLR. It was same time of the day but light changes very fast. Hood was used on both. Don't think lens quality was an issue (28-70/2.8 L-lens against an AIS 50/1.8).

The difference factors are
1. Use of polarizer. Polarizer was not used on DSLR, affecting EV and contrast esp. on those window panels.
2. Slightly different time of the day. Different lighting condition. DIfferent EV. The DSLR one has higher EV than Velvia one, toning down the contrast.
3. May be the lens quality was not on par.
4. Was hood used on both? It seems that with DSLR hood was not used.
