It sometimes takes several hours for me to approach the wild horses in a way that gets me reasonably close without disturbing or spooking them away. My 50-500mm lens and built-in image stabilizing Pentax has been outstanding.

Still, the stallions always place themselves between me and the herd, and as you can see in this image, a wary eye is on me.
